My New Favorite Accessory

Hey yall! JORD Watches reached out to me to receive and review one of their watches. These are wooden watches and I’d never had one before so I was eager to try it out. Normally, I’m not a huge watch person because I like having bare wrists (with an exception of a hair tie) but this watch is so lightweight and I love how it looks. Sometimes I’m rushing out the door or lazy and I want my look a little more put together so I can throw on this watch easily.

The watch I received was the FRANKIE 35 Zebrawood and Navy. I liked how the watch face was navy – I thought brought a lot of character to the watch.

You can get your watch custom-sized which is really handy because ideally, you don’t have to get links taken out. I have small wrists so that can be a bit of a pain. The watch came in a beautiful wooden box that presented the watch beautifully.

The watch is unique and it looks so sleek and classic so you can wear it with pretty much anything.

I would recommend this to anyone so JORD and I are teaming up to offer an awesome giveaway. One person will receive $100 off toward their JORD watch purchase but everyone else who enters will automatically receive $25 off.

If you’re interested in receiving a watch of your own, click my giveaway link here. You have until Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 11:59pm to enter this giveaway!

24 things I learned by 24

It’s my birthday! I can’t believe it’s finally July 10th! My Jordan year is finally over. I don’t feel any different. Today I’m sharing twenty-four things I’ve learned by 24 into categories to make it easier to read. In no particular order, here we go.

1. Spend time with yourself. This can be anything – watching TV, going to get your nails done, etc.

2. Wake up early. It’s such a great feeling to wake up early and being super productive.

3. Take care of your body. That can mean eating healthy or working out.

4. Always take off your makeup.

5. Invest in good bras and foundation.

6. Value your relationships with your friends and family. Spend as much time with them as you can. I wish I spent more time with my grandma before she passed away. I chalked it up to our language barrier and I should have put more of an effort.

Life Advice
7. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. For me, this was joining a sorority. I thought I wouldn’t fit in or they wouldn’t like me.

8. Don’t compare yourself to others. It is INCREDIBLY easy to do this in our society today. I used to struggle with this A LOT when I was younger. I’d compare myself to my smarter, godlier friends.

9. Don’t be afraid to ask. The worst that can happen is no.

10. Wear sunscreen.

11. Take as many pictures as you can. I typically take a lot of pictures/videos of my nieces because they’re super cute and hilarious. And I know they won’t stay small forever.

12. Put away your phone from time to time. It’s important to be present.

13. Always go to the restroom. TMI I know, but my dad always taught me to do so if I have a chance. You may get stuck in traffic and it’ll suck.

14. If you feel like a friend is toxic or bringing you down, it’s okay to faze them out. Being around certain people can bring out the worst in you sometimes.

15. Be grateful. Some people don’t have it as well as you do. Also, don’t take your close friends for granted.

16. Don’t compromise your beliefs.

17. Take advantage of the “free” gym at your school. You’re paying for it with your tuition so you might as well use it.

18. Go to office hours and befriend your teachers! For the most part, they want to help you and they can’t if you don’t go to them.

19. Give it to God and go to sleep. When I’m overthinking or worrying about something, I try to remind myself of this.

20. Try your best and God will do the rest. Life is hard. Things don’t always turn out the way we’d like. I’m in the season of trying to a find a job and where everything is seemingly uncertain. Sometimes an interview won’t go well or a test wouldn’t turn as well as I’d like but it’s okay.

21. God gives us opportunities to practice the Gospel every day. When I learned this in Sunday school, my mind was blown. I constantly ask for opportunities to be a light to people around me. This may be dealing with a difficult person – practicing patience or practicing self-control.

22. Jesus is bigger and better than anything we think we can accomplish alone. Sometimes I have a hard time trusting God will take care of me in all aspects but I know He will in His timing.

23. Be more of a Mary and less like a Martha. Luke 10:41-42 tells a story about two girls named Martha and Mary. Martha invites Jesus into her house and during this time, she is frazzled by all the preparations and Mary is sat at his feet listening. Worldly things upset Martha and she focused on those things but she’s reminded that she just needs one thing. That needs to be Jesus. I’m trying to focus on Christ rather than things of the world that don’t matter.

24. Spend more time with the Lord. He has so much to teach you. At small group, we were all asked how our spiritual life was. It made me reflect and realize I don’t spend enough time with God.

Welp, there’s twenty-four. I hope you all have a great day!

Hey yall! I wanted to apologize for my lack of posting last Wednesday. I had a couple of interviews last week and I’ve been trying to figure out my next steps in regards to my blog. That could mean new posts… We’ll see!

Today I’m sharing this top I got from Ross. It was only twelve dollars. I like this top because it’s somewhat loose – necessary in the summer heat and reminds me of the beach. Also, how cute is this pup? His name is Vicious and he attacked me with love.

I hope you all are having a great week! Do yall have any fun plans this weekend? I’m preparing for my trip to Houston!

Hello friends! How in the world is it almost June?!

Today on the blog I’m sharing this cute off-the-shoulder top I got from Ross. Off-the-shoulder tops have been in style lately so I tried to try it for myself. I was a bit skeptical before I tried it on but I ended up really liking it! I love that it’s light and flowy enough to wear in the summer.

Have yall been loving the off-the-shoulder trend lately?
I hope you are having a great week!

Light Pink Dress

Dress // BCBG Max Azria

Hey yall! I finally graduated college and honestly, it’s been a bit of a struggle to get back into the swing of things.

Today on the blog I’m sharing this BCBG Max Azria light pink lace dress that I borrowed from my sister. I love visiting my sister because she always has cute dresses for me to borrow and I can save money. I think it’s the perfect spring dress because you can pair it many different ways. You can wear it to a spring wedding, date night, or a sorority or fraternity semi-formal/formal! I decided to do the latter. I paired it with boots because this year’s semi-formal is Barnyard, where we country dance and is more relaxed.

It was held at Howell Farms and the venue was so cute! There were even longhorns (my friend wouldn’t let me go too close for fear of my safety…) and a cat that ended up being the sweetest thing!

I hope you all are having a wonderful week!

Happy Wednesday! If you haven’t already guessed by my title, I’m graduating this week! In two days, actually!! Jackie and I had a blast taking these photos. Although I’m thrilled to be done with college, I’m pretty nervous about my plans post-graduation. I’ve been trying to apply to different companies but I’m also going to take a short break and also work on my blog more so get excited! I can’t believe 5.5 years of college are finally over; this semester has truly flown by. I remember when I first moved into my sorority house this semester I was wondering how this semester was going to be like, and now 4 months later, I’m almost graduated. If you want to read a little more about my college journey, check out this post.

This weekend I’ll be graduating and spending time with my family and friends!! So excited to see my siblings and my nieces whom I haven’t seen in ages. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Every Day in April 2017

Hey babes! I can’t believe it’s finally May!! I graduate in less than a week, eek! Time really has flown by. Today I’m sharing with yall every day in April – one to five seconds of my day each day in April. I knew April was going to be a busy month so I decided to record this month.  It feels good to complete it even though some days I did not really do very much or I didn’t get the right kind of footage.

I celebrated my Big’s birthday, got a turban wrapped around my head, went to my sorority’s philanthropy event, a fraternity philanthropy event (we won!!), semi-formal aka Barnyard (posting an outfit post soon!!!), met the cutest pups and officially became a Zeta alum! I hope you enjoy this video!
