My New Favorite Accessory

Hey yall! JORD Watches reached out to me to receive and review one of their watches. These are wooden watches and I’d never had one before so I was eager to try it out. Normally, I’m not a huge watch person because I like having bare wrists (with an exception of a hair tie) but this watch is so lightweight and I love how it looks. Sometimes I’m rushing out the door or lazy and I want my look a little more put together so I can throw on this watch easily.

The watch I received was the FRANKIE 35 Zebrawood and Navy. I liked how the watch face was navy – I thought brought a lot of character to the watch.

You can get your watch custom-sized which is really handy because ideally, you don’t have to get links taken out. I have small wrists so that can be a bit of a pain. The watch came in a beautiful wooden box that presented the watch beautifully.

The watch is unique and it looks so sleek and classic so you can wear it with pretty much anything.

I would recommend this to anyone so JORD and I are teaming up to offer an awesome giveaway. One person will receive $100 off toward their JORD watch purchase but everyone else who enters will automatically receive $25 off.

If you’re interested in receiving a watch of your own, click my giveaway link here. You have until Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 11:59pm to enter this giveaway!

Summer Essentials

Summer is here and it’s important to take care of yourself throughout the sunshine, relaxation, and fun. Today I’m sharing with y’all my summer essentials. Hover over the images to see how much they are!

cactus patch hat| eat, beach, shop hat | light blue pom-pom floppy hat

  1. Hat
-I’m not normally a hat person but I recently purchased a floppy hat and it allows me to better protect my face even though sometimes I get quite hot anyway.

IMG-sunglasses2. Sunglasses
-I don’t know if any of you have this problem but since I have such big cheeks/high cheekbones, it’s important for me to find sunglasses with a nose pad or if I smile, my sunglasses will rise higher and it looks off.

insulated tumbler | rose gold sequin tumbler | sip by swell insulated bottle
3. Water Bottle

-If you’re going to be out in the heat, it’s a great idea to carry around a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated. There are so many out there but I tend to go for the ones that keep my water cooler for longer since I love cold water.

4. Sunscreen
-I know this is a given but it’s incredibly important to take care of your skin. I’ll admit that I’m terrible about applying it but when I know I’ll be out for long periods of time, I make sure to put it on. I use one that my dermatologist recommends but I’m guilty of not using it all the time because it makes me feel sticky sometimes.

wedge sandals | tory burch flip flops | lace up pom-pom sandals | lace up brown sandals
5. Comfortable sandals
-Personally, I don’t like wearing closed toed shoes in the summer unless I really have to so it’s important that I have cute and comfy sandals. I used to wear Jandals for pretty much everything but personally, I don’t feel like I can pull it off like some people can.

Those are my summer essentials! What are yours?

Light Pink Dress

Earrings // Kendra Scott
Necklace // Kendra Scott
Bracelet // Charming Charlie
Dress // BCBG Max Azria
Boots // Buckle?

Hey yall! I finally graduated college and honestly, it’s been a bit of a struggle to get back into the swing of things.

Today on the blog I’m sharing this BCBG Max Azria light pink lace dress that I borrowed from my sister. I love visiting my sister because she always has cute dresses for me to borrow and I can save money. I think it’s the perfect spring dress because you can pair it many different ways. You can wear it to a spring wedding, date night, or a sorority or fraternity semi-formal/formal! I decided to do the latter. I paired it with boots because this year’s semi-formal is Barnyard, where we country dance and is more relaxed.

It was held at Howell Farms and the venue was so cute! There were even longhorns (my friend wouldn’t let me go too close for fear of my safety…) and a cat that ended up being the sweetest thing!

Happy Wednesday, friends! I finally got to film a video I’ve been wanting to film for ages and I can’t wait to share it with yall. Today I’m sharing my outfit I wore to the Texas Rangers baseball game on Monday. Our awesome sisterhood chair planned this event so we got to go.  One of my sisters and I shared some bomb nachos. I was going to show yall but they didn’t look as appetizing. The weather was so lovely and I got to move lower because my friend’s brother-in-law got tickets from work.

Everyday Nighttime Skincare Routine

Hey babes! Today I thought I’d share with yall my nighttime skincare routine. I have sensitive skin that is somewhat prone to acne. (Less now since I was on Accutane and go to a dermatologist as well.)

For as long as I could remember, I’ve been doing the same skincare routine at nighttime so I thought I’d share with yall.

If I’ve been wearing makeup, I usually take it off right when I get home. There’s just something so comforting about taking off my makeup and putting on a big t-shirt and putting on athletic shorts (if I’m not already wearing them.) I take off all my face makeup with a makeup wipe then go about my day. Lately, I’ve been using makeup wipes from Costco. It’s $13 for a box of like 4.

Before bed, I take off the rest of my eye makeup with either Micellar Cleansing water or baby oil. I pour it onto a cotton swab and gently wipe/dab around my eyes!

Next, I wash my face with a gentle cleanser. This one is from Whole Foods that I got recommended by my friend. I like it more than Cetaphil because it feels softer.

Sometimes, I use micellar water all over my face to make sure I’ve gotten all my makeup off.

If I’m breaking out, I use the creams that my dermatologist prescribed me. Lately, I’ve been using this one.

Sometimes I like to have moisturized lips before bed so I use Eraclea (prescribed by my dermatologist) or I use Vaseline lip therapy.

Lastly, all over I use Sorbolene, a really thick lotion that my dermatologist also prescribed me that’s great for face and body, and although it is really thick, it makes my skin really soft.

What’s your nighttime skincare routine? I’d love to hear it!

Thank you so much for reading! Hope you all have a great rest of your week!

Laneige BB Cushion REVIEW

Hey yall! Recently, I decided to transition over from my Smashbox foundation to something a lot lighter.

There’s something about a full-face of makeup that makes me feel physically tired. For many years I wouldn’t wear much makeup so maybe that’s where that comes from. It’s weird, I know.

My friend was telling me about BB cushions so I decided to give it a try. I wanted to try the Asian ones because they’re kind of the ones who ‘started’ BB cushions and I know I fit their skin tones. Originally I started at Sephora and tried the AmorePacific BB cushion. It was good but I couldn’t justify spending $60 even with receiving a second BB cushion sponge.

I decided to go to Target instead and try Laneige since it is a cheaper alternative. ($35!) Laneige’s parent company is AmorePacific. I got the lightest shade (obviously). Although my friend told me I looked tan and I was surprised.

Anyway, you press the antibacterial puff to the sponge to get the product. Then you press it onto your face and gently blot it in. (I promise it’s not this dar..) Target has a 90-day return policy on MOST opened products so you could definitely go off of trial and error.

A great thing about this product is that it has pretty good coverage already, but you could definitely layer on it if you needed to.Ever since I’ve tried it, it’s made my makeup routine so much easier.

I hope this has been helpful and it inspires you to try it out. What’s your go-to foundation?
