I’ve been trying to figure out what to write my next post about so that’s why there’s a gap between this post and my last one. Anyway, I had a four day weekend during Fourth of July so I got to go to Houston to see my sister, brother-in-law, niece and my mom (and Big and GodBig).
The Megabus I was taking to Houston got delayed so if you get carsick like I do, I would recommend SeaBands. I don’t know if they actually work or it’s a placebo effect but I find that they’ve helped me a bit! Basically, it’s a thick cloth bracelet and the bead presses up against your pressure point.
On Saturday, my Big Audrey (Big sister in my sorority) , GodBig Erika (her best friend) and I tried going to the Kusama Exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston but found out it was sold out.
Protip: Buy online so tickets won’t sell out
Kusama was open until September 18. The light room kind of reminds me of the lights I saw at Vivid Sydney last year. If you want to see what I’m talking about click here.
We went to this place called Class 502 which is a rolled ice cream place. It was set up like a classroom and it was pretty cute. Audrey and I got the matcha one. It was pretty good but the ice cream place was a little unorganized in distributing their orders. Erika had to wait forever for her ice cream. #notcool
Then we went to Biscuit Paint Wall. It’s basically a huge wall on the side of Biscuit (the furniture store) with paint dripped off of it – like that canvas trend that happened a couple of years ago but lifesize! Perfect opportunity to have a little photoshoot..
Then went JINYA Ramen. I wasn’t that hungry but it was pretty good.
On Sunday, I went to Kendra Scott. Luckily, my sister and I both have July birthdays and she was so generous in allowing me to use her birthday discount. #youdabest
PRO TIP: If it’s your birthday month, you can get half off. Also, you can always use someone else’s if they’re there… #WorthIt
Afterward, we went to Cheesecake Factory. The employees and my family started singing Happy Birthday to me and baby Juliette (my niece) started crying. :'(
Here’s my outfit! What I like about it is that I can eat a lot without people noticing. My outfit kinda reminds me of Audrey Hepburn’s character in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. #FoodBaby #Priorities
Shoes: Steve Madden
Dress: Forever 21
Necklace: JCrew Outlet
During the weekend, my sister had a trunk show for me to give me jewelry and we had a little fashion show.
Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a great week!
